Powder burn off furnaces are primarily used to strip powder coated parts of the old coating and make the surface ready for fresh treatment and coating. Some times due to quality rejects or wear and tear of parts they need to be powder coated regularly. To re apply powder coating to the parts it is essential for the surface to be cleaned of any coating that might have been present on the surface.

The burn off oven/furnace heats the parts in excess of 400 degrees Celsius which causes the powder coat to peel off from the surface and clean the parts of any old coats that may have been applied. Furnaces are only batch type and need minimum 150 mm thick insulation to preserve the heat and reduce consumption of fuel. furnaces are also designed batch type only to prevent heat loss by sealing the doors closed position when in use.
